Park Jin’s studio is filled with blossoms from all seasons, but it is the cherry blossom—delicate, quiet, and luminous—that has become his signature motif. To him, flowers transcend seasons; they are attitudes toward life and a language of emotion. “Unpretentious yet unmistakably present,” he says, recalling how cherry blossoms remind him of the artist’s quiet integrity.
His canvas is not merely a surface for painting flowers—it is a stage for memories and emotions that bloom from silence. During times of deep isolation due to disability, Park found comfort and companionship in flowers. That warmth now returns to viewers through his work, like a gesture of quiet friendship.

Painting became his voice—his way of holding on to life. Despite communication barriers, Park learned sign language, written dialogue, and speech-reading to connect with the world. Over time, he has established himself as “the artist who speaks in flowers,” earning prestigious honors such as the Grand Prize at the Korea Disabled Artists Art Competition and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.
In 2023, Park’s cherry blossom piece Ecstasy was featured on the August cover of Community Chest of Korea, once again offering hope to the world through the language of flowers.
박진 작가의 작업실은 사계절의 꽃들로 가득하다. 특히 봄을 닮은 벚꽃은 그의 대표작이자 상징 같은 존재다.그에게 꽃은 계절을 넘어서 삶의 태도이자 감정의 언어다. ‘요란하지 않지만 분명한 존재감’,작가는 벚꽃을 보며 스스로 지켜야 할 예술가의 자세를 떠올린다고 말한다.
그의 캔버스는 단지 꽃을 그리는 곳이 아니라,고요히 피어난 마음의 감정과 기억이 자리 잡는 무대다.장애로 인해 세상과 단절되었던 시절, 박진 작가는 꽃에게 친구이자 동반자 같은 위안을 느꼈고,그 따뜻한 감정은 오늘날 작품을 통해 다시 관객에게 전달된다.

그림은 그의 언어였고, 삶을 붙드는 끈이었다.수어, 필담, 구화까지 익히며 사회와 소통해온 박진 작가는대한민국장애인미술대전 대상, 문화체육관광부장관상 등 굵직한 수상 경력을 거치며‘꽃으로 말하는 작가’로 자리매김했다.
2023년, 그는 벚꽃 작품 ‘환희’로 사랑의열매 8월호 표지를 장식하며다시 한번 희망의 언어를 세상에 전했다.
